Usually when I lay down for an afternoon nap, I close my eyes and within a few seconds a bright light at the center of my "vision" appears and then quickly turns into a golden sunburst that gets wider and wider till it takes up the entire space of my vision and then random images appear that keep on morphing into different scenes and imagery which have absolutely no relation to my daily life. I just lay there and literally watch this unfold before my eyes, as if watching a movie. Just random images unfamiliar to me, with amazing bright colors, that I have no control about, and within minutes I am fast asleep. I suppose that's what's called lucid dreaming?
Same thing happened yesterday when I layed down for an afternoon nap. What was different this time however, is when I woke up, trying to hold on to fragmented bits of the dream I woke up with, where I was speaking on the phone with a cousin of mine that I haven't spoken to in years.....suddenly my mind went blank and that golden bright speck of light at the center of my vision appeared again and began to get bigger and bigger, then turned into a golden heart that slowly morphed into the shape of a mouth which then became part of a golden face and slowly became the face of a Buddha with a pine cone headdress, looking right at me smiling. Then it disappeared and that's when I opened my eyes, marveling at the experience.
