Here we go again folks, yet another "art project" causing a stir in the Dutch-Muslim community.
Iranian Dutch artist Sooreh Hera seems to be prepared to take the heat for producing "artwork" which she claims is a provocative approach to religious norms with regards to homosexuality. The Expo is due to be launched on December 15 at The Hague Museum.
The museum director claims that he selected Hera's work purely based on artistic value, he had no idea that the masks she used were meant to represent Mohamed and his son-in-law Ali. Now he wants to reconsider his decision.
Take a look at her video and see for yourself. (NSFW)
Is that what they call artwork?
I think it's pure garbage, meant to insult and anger Muslims in general, plus it presents the gay community in a very negative confrontational way.
Update:
The Hague Museum refused to exhibit Hera's images depicting "Mohamed and his son-in-law Ali" after all, but on the other hand, the Gouda Museum is now expressing interest in exhibiting Hera's work without censorship.
