No matter what your opinion of former MP Ayaan Hirsi Ali is, she does cause a reaction. Today we got to see her accidentally topple the Dutch government.
How did she do this you ask? One of the coalition parties who was running Immigration, or what passed for it in Holland, decided to try and deport Ms. Ali since she falsified her application for citizenship years ago. The final straw was the olive branch Verdonk offered the former Dutch Member of Parliament so she could keep her Dutch citizenship.
MP Ayaan Hirsi Ali disagreed with the last paragraph of the document she was offered but to avoid an even lengthier battle to stay in Holland she did sign it agreeing not to use her real last name of Magan anymore.
Apparently others in the Dutch ruling coalition thought it was akin to blackmail. So today D66 announced they are withdrawing from the coaltion which will force Holland into conducting new elections.
