I am a Muslim, a Christian, a Jew and a Buddhist too. If you don't like it, then this place is not for you, but as long as you don't force your beliefs on anyone, you're welcome to join in, it doesn't matter if you're a liberal, a republican or just simply you.
For a while I was buying only "organic" labeled fruits and vegetables, but then I gave up on that because I could hardly notice the difference between that and the non-organic kind. Of course, it helps that I am old enough to remember what the real stuff feels, smells and tastes like. What I didn't know, is to what extent the "organic certified" industry is manipulated by the USDA. What are the chances they actually stick to the program? Slim.
So as of today, I'm on a new mission to find "naturally grown" produce.
Justine and Brian Denison say they adhere to all the growing practices required for organic certification, yet if they label their beans and tomatoes "organic" at the farmer's market, they could face federal charges and $20,000 or more in fines.
Because the Denisons chose not to seek organic certification by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Denison Farm, which has been under organic management for more than 20 years, is banned from using that term. So they and hundreds of other small direct-marketing farms across the country have adopted an alternative label: Certified Naturally Grown. [read more here]
Usually when I lay down for an afternoon nap, I close my eyes and within a few seconds a bright light at the center of my "vision" appears and then quickly turns into a golden sunburst that gets wider and wider till it takes up the entire space of my vision and then random images appear that keep on morphing into different scenes and imagery which have absolutely no relation to my daily life. I just lay there and literally watch this unfold before my eyes, as if watching a movie. Just random images unfamiliar to me, with amazing bright colors, that I have no control about, and within minutes I am fast asleep. I suppose that's what's called lucid dreaming?
Same thing happened yesterday when I layed down for an afternoon nap. What was different this time however, is when I woke up, trying to hold on to fragmented bits of the dream I woke up with, where I was speaking on the phone with a cousin of mine that I haven't spoken to in years.....suddenly my mind went blank and that golden bright speck of light at the center of my vision appeared again and began to get bigger and bigger, then turned into a golden heart that slowly morphed into the shape of a mouth which then became part of a golden face and slowly became the face of a Buddha with a pine cone headdress, looking right at me smiling. Then it disappeared and that's when I opened my eyes, marveling at the experience.
